The Quality Thrift Shop opened in just one room of the Parish House.  Since moving in 1995 to their larger location, they have been able to give much more to their Outreach ministries. They operate with a volunteer staff.  After their expenses have been met, the rest of their income is given to many organizations near and far such as: Habitat for Humanity, Kent Food Bank, Americares, Covenant to Care, Church World Service, NW Chore, United Way, Kent Children’s Center, Silver Lake, Kent Nursing Assoc., Housatonic Youth Services, Kent Affordable Housing, ARC, H.O.M.E. Inc., Kent Elderly Recreation Program, New Milford Hospice, Women’s Support Services, Greenwoods Counseling, Torrington Soup Kitchen, Kent Center School Scholarships. The Quality Thrift Shop provides many less fortunate, in and around the community, with a valuable service and contributions.
